A Republican elected official in Maine actually said this. But what war on women? (via albinwonderland)
Someone get me some brain bleach, please. Or a spaceship. I don’t know if I can bear the knowledge that I inhabit the same planet as this guy…
heres a thing i’ve created for you and now you can’t unsee or unhear it this is my magnum opus
The Basement Arcade
There are cool basement bars and then there is this basement arcade bar. Redditor Mertzlufft and his father built this incredible arcade in their basement, housing 42 arcade games! Games random from the original Donkey Kong, to Hydro Thunder, to Galaga and everything is set to free play. The bar in the center looks to be the perfect place to start out. A night of cocktails and arcade games awaits.
I need this in my life.
Here are some awesome and empowering quotes from several very strong female celebrities.
And Kristen Stewart.
No, you know what? Fuck you.
Let me tell you about Kristen Stewart.
Let’s talk about how she’s the centerpiece of one of the most inexplicably popular misogynistic pieces of film shit and somehow gets blamed for it sucking, despite the fact that, hey, the books were actually worse. For those who were lucky enough to escape reading the actual books, her apparent lack of emotion is 100% accurate to Bella’s character, because Bella is in fact not a character but a blank white wall for fourteen-year-old girls to project themselves onto. Robert Pattinson is not the only one in the cast who hates Twilight, thank you.
Let’s talk about how she got crucified in the media for having an affair with a married man, when that man was her director. And let’s remember that she was called all manner of things for “ruining her relationship with RPattz” when she wasn’t even engaged to the dude, let alone married with kids. But oh no, she gets called a slut because she’s Kristen Stewart, she gets her career fucked because she’s Kristen Stewart, and the dude gets off scott free.
Let’s talk about how she is incredibly shy and anxious (rather, incidentally, like Chris Evans) but does film anyway, because she’s just that awesome.
Fuck your noise. She’s not the best actor in the world but she sure as hell doesn’t deserve that kind of shit.
men who pass around/publicize naked photos sent to them by someone who trusted them are literal garbage. & if you shame the girl for sending those photos which they thought were going to be kept private, instead of blaming the guy for being a scummy asshole and betraying his partner, you are just as bad.
hey this is a good and important post
And then I debated whether or not to put it on Tumblr…but I decided it was important. Because in my own way, I can (unfortunately) point out exactly what is wrong with men when they don’t realize how hard it is to be a woman. How we do not have equal opportunities and freedoms in everyday life….
I’ve never had something on this scale of terror happen to me before (I pray it never does), but the message rings so true. :( I very rarely wear makeup, and often avoid dressing in a way that calls attention to myself in a feeble attempt to avoid interactions like these, but it shouldn’t have to come to that. No person should have their personal space invaded and be made to feel uncomfortable, threatened, and scared because someone else finds them attractive.
They ask him what he do and who he do it for
This machine allows anyone to work for minimum wage for as long as they like. Turning the crank on the side releases one penny every 4.97 seconds, for a total of $7.25 per hour. This corresponds to minimum wage for a person in New York. This piece is brilliant on multiple levels, particularly as social commentary. Without a doubt, most people who started operating the machine for fun would quickly grow disheartened and stop when realizing just how little they’re earning by turning this mindless crank. A person would then conceivably realize that this is what nearly two million people in the United States do every day…at much harder jobs than turning a crank. This turns the piece into a simple, yet effective argument for raising the minimum wage.
